The June Birth Flower is the Rose

June Birth Flower: Rose

The birth flower for June is the popular and well loved Rose.

There are many types and cultivars of the rose plant and the beautiful flowers occur in many shapes and colors. "Rose" means pink or red in many languages and those are the colors usually portrayed in floral symbolism.

The Rose is a national emblem for both England and the United States as well as the state flower for Iowa, North Dakota, Georgia, New York and Oklahoma.

The language of flowers introduced in Victorian times says that Roses convey love and passion.
